A FEATURE OF INSTORYVIEW

Instagram Activity Tracker

See connection changes together. The Instagram Activity Tracker brings new follows, unfollows, new followers and lost followers into one timeline for the public lists you choose to track.

Start with an Instagram list preview. The activity timeline builds from detected changes after tracking begins.

ACTIVITY TRACKER EXPLAINED

What you can do with the Instagram Activity Tracker

The Instagram Activity Tracker brings detected changes from Following and Followers into a readable history. Each record shows the account name, the kind of change and when a comparison found it.

Use one timeline to prepare an account review, research a creator’s connections or follow a brand’s changing audience. The follower tracker overview explains how tracking is set up before these records begin.

  • Review four kinds of connection changes
  • See names, event types and detection times

PUT IT TO WORK

Instagram Activity Tracker use cases

Bring both sides of public connections into the same review.

Creator & market research

See a creator’s connections in context

You are researching a public creator before planning a collaboration. Their outgoing connections and incoming audience answer different questions, and reviewing only one list leaves part of the picture out.

How to use it

Choose both eligible lists in the Instagram Activity Tracker. Review new follows alongside new followers, then explore relevant profiles and their public work.

What you gain

Create a more informed research shortlist from specific connections. The timeline gives you leads to investigate, not proof of a business relationship.

Explore an account’s activity

Brand & agency reviews

Prepare your next account update faster

Before a client meeting, you need more than a follower total. You want to revisit which public connections changed during the period without reconstructing several lists by hand.

How to use it

Use the Instagram Activity Tracker to read saved events in one timeline. Note the list, account name and detection time before preparing your own summary.

What you gain

Reduce repetitive list checking and give the discussion a clearer starting point, with recorded observations you can revisit.

Follows and unfollows

The Instagram Activity Tracker labels additions to the Following list as new follows and removals as unfollows. Both describe who the tracked account follows.

A studio adding a photographer and removing a supplier can produce two records, even when its total following count stays unchanged.

New and lost followers

Enable eligible follower tracking in the Instagram Activity Tracker to see additions and removals from the audience. Following-only tracking does not include these events.

Read gains and losses together. A stable follower total can still contain new people joining while others leave, which is why a follower count can stay the same. The unfollow guide explains how to interpret lost follower records.

The time a change was detected

Several events can share a time because one comparison found them together. The timeline orders detected records, rather than establishing the exact sequence of Instagram actions.

Check which list changed first, then read the name and detection time. That keeps incoming and outgoing connections easy to distinguish.

ACTIVITY TRACKER COVERAGE

What to expect from the Instagram Activity Tracker

Only the lists you choose

The Instagram Activity Tracker covers the eligible lists selected during setup. Following records describe outgoing connections; follower records describe audience changes. One list does not reveal changes in the other.

History begins with saved comparisons

The first complete scan establishes a baseline. Later comparisons can create records. Earlier activity is available only when Instoryview has already detected it.

Coverage depends on completed checks

A change reversed between scans may not appear. An unavailable list can leave gaps, so check the last completed scan before interpreting an empty or quiet timeline.

No Instagram login or password is required. You can preview a public account using available daily credits. Ongoing tracking requires an Instoryview account, and completed scans of your selected lists use credits. Check scan costs for each list when deciding what to track.
