Terms of Service
Last updated October 14, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the operators of Instoryview (“we”, “us”), available at instoryview.com. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy. Questions are welcome at support@instoryview.com.
Agreement
By creating an account, buying a plan or otherwise using Instoryview, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to create an account or buy a plan. If you use Instoryview for a company or other organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms on its behalf.
What Instoryview does
Instoryview lets you look up public Instagram accounts — their profiles, stories, highlights and posts — without signing in to Instagram, and track changes to the public following and follower lists of public accounts.
We retrieve publicly available Instagram data through HikerAPI, a third-party data service. This is not an official Instagram or Meta API integration.
- We only work with information Instagram makes publicly available. We never ask for your Instagram password, and we cannot see the content of private accounts.
- Changes are shown with the time we detected them during a check, not the time someone followed or unfollowed: Instagram does not publish that. The lists Instagram returns can also be incomplete, so a change can be detected late or missed.
- Instoryview is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Instagram or Meta. Instagram can change what it shows at any time, and a feature may stop working as a result.
Your account
You sign in with a link sent to your email or with Google. Keep access to them secure: you are responsible for what happens through your account. If you think someone else has used it, tell us straight away at support@instoryview.com.
Free credit allowances are one per person. Opening several accounts to get them again, or to get around a limit, is not allowed; we may withhold free credits from, or suspend, accounts that do this.
Credits
Instoryview is paid for in credits:
- Looking up an account — a profile, stories, highlights, posts or a list — costs credits for each request we have to make to fetch it; an answer we already have is free. Visitors who are not signed in get 5 free credits, once. Signed-in users can claim 10 credits a day, valid for 24 hours.
- Tracking costs credits for each completed scan of a following or follower list. We show the price before you start and never charge more than that quote; failed or discarded scans are not charged.
- Plan credits are added at the start of each monthly credit period, on annual plans too, and accumulate while your membership remains active. All unused plan credits expire when the membership expires or ends. Signup credits do not expire. Bonus credits we give you last as long as we say when we give them.
- Credits have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and are refunded only as described under Refunds.
Current prices, credit amounts and plan limits are on the Pricing page.
Plans, billing and renewal
Paid plans are subscriptions billed monthly or annually in US dollars, through one of two payment providers, which you choose at checkout. Your receipts show which one handles your subscription, and it stays with that provider until it ends:
- Stripe. We sell the subscription ourselves, and Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”) processes the payment. Where we have to collect sales tax or VAT, it is added at checkout and shown before you pay. Charges appear on your card statement under our name, “INSTORYVIEW”.
- Waffo. Our online reseller Waffo.com Limited, through its Waffo Pancake platform (“Waffo”), is the Merchant of Record for every purchase made through it: Waffo takes the payment, charges any sales tax or VAT that applies, and sends your receipts. Because Waffo is the seller of record, charges appear on your card statement under its name (such as “WAFFO PANCAKE”), not ours.
Automatic renewal. A plan renews at the end of each billing period, at the price then in effect, until you cancel. By subscribing you authorise the provider that handles your subscription — Stripe for us, or Waffo on our behalf — to charge your payment method on a recurring basis for each renewal. We tell you before a price change applies to your next renewal.
You can switch plans or billing interval, reactivate a cancelled plan and see your invoices in your provider’s billing portal, linked from Settings. With Stripe, moving to a bigger plan or from monthly to annual billing starts at once: you pay the difference for the time left in the current period, and you get the bigger plan’s extra monthly credits for the part of the current credit period that is left (if the billing interval changes too, a new credit period starts with the new plan’s monthly credits, less the unused share of your current ones that the switch refunded). Moving to a smaller plan or from annual to monthly billing starts when the period you paid for ends; until then you keep your current plan, and cancelling drops a move that has not started yet. With Waffo, a switch starts a new billing period at once: its price takes into account the time left in the current one, and the unused share of this month’s plan credits that this refunds is taken back from the new plan’s first monthly credits. In Stripe’s portal you can also change the card on file. Waffo’s portal cannot: if a renewal fails, Waffo retries it, and to pay with another card you can subscribe again with it once the plan has ended, or write to support@instoryview.com. If a plan ends, or you move to a smaller one, the tracked accounts over its limit are paused, not deleted: their history stays readable, and nothing is collected or charged for them.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time in Settings, in one click, or by writing to support@instoryview.com. Cancelling stops future renewals; there is no fee. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and the credits you have left can be used until they expire.
Refunds
- 7-day guarantee on your first payment. If it is your first subscription with us, you can have your first payment refunded in full — together with any charge for moving to a bigger plan or to annual billing in those days — for any reason, by asking within 7 days of your first payment.
- Billing mistakes — a duplicate charge, a charge after you cancelled, or any other error on our side — are refunded in full when you tell us within 14 days of the charge, the longest every one of our payment providers can return a charge to the card it came from. For an older mistake, we work out a fair remedy with you.
- Other payments, including renewals and partly used periods, are not refunded except where the law requires it. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law, such as a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase.
To ask for a refund, write to support@instoryview.com from the email address of your account. Refunds go back to the original payment method, through the provider that took the payment. A payment refunded in full ends the subscription it paid for, straight away: the subscription is cancelled so it does not renew, your plan returns to the free tier, and the credits that subscription added and you have not used are removed. A partial refund leaves your plan as it is.
Billing questions and disputes
If a charge looks wrong, please write to support@instoryview.com before disputing it with your bank. We reply within two business days and aim to settle billing problems within ten. If a chargeback is opened while we are handling your request, we may suspend the account until it is resolved.
Acceptable use
Instoryview is for looking at public information — for research, following creators and brands, or understanding your own audience. You agree not to:
- use it to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate or expose anyone, or to monitor a person in a way that breaks the law or their rights;
- try to see private accounts or other information that is not public, or get around a block, a privacy setting or an owner’s removal request;
- scrape, bulk-copy, resell or republish data or content from Instoryview, or access it with bots or scripts other than through features we provide;
- get around credit charges, limits or suspensions — for example with several accounts — or interfere with the service or its security;
- use it for anything unlawful or that infringes the rights of others.
We may refuse lookups, pause tracking or suspend accounts that break these rules.
If your account appears on Instoryview
If you own a public Instagram account, you can remove it from Instoryview on our removal page. Once you show that the account is yours, we delete what we store about it, stop tracking it for everyone and block future lookups of it. You can also write to support@instoryview.com.
Instagram content and our property
The profiles, photos, videos and other content shown on Instoryview belong to their owners. We display them so you can view them; we give you no rights in them, and republishing them may need the owner’s permission.
The Instoryview website, software, design and brand belong to us. Instagram is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.; other names belong to their owners.
Privacy and payment data
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why. Payment card data is processed exclusively by our PCI-DSS certified payment processors — Stripe, or Waffo Pancake for subscriptions bought through Waffo — and is never stored on our servers.
Disclaimers
Instoryview is provided “as is” and “as available”. Public Instagram information is supplied through HikerAPI, a third-party data service. We do not control Instagram or HikerAPI. Data may be incomplete, delayed, outdated, inaccurate or temporarily unavailable because of caching, access restrictions, API changes or service interruptions.
We do not guarantee complete lists or history, the order of a list, detection of every change, or the exact time of an Instagram action. Tracking timestamps show when we detected a difference. No recorded change does not prove that no change occurred, and a result does not establish why a person acted. Use results as a reference and independently verify important information before relying on it.
To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in these disclaimers or our liability limits excludes rights or liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Instoryview at any time, and ask us to delete your account by writing to support@instoryview.com.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used for fraud or abuse, or when the law requires it. Suspending an account does not delete its data, and we lift a suspension made in error. If we close your account without cause, we refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.
Changes
We keep improving Instoryview and may add, change or remove features. We may also update these terms: for a material change we give at least 14 days’ notice, by email or on the site, before it takes effect, and the date at the top shows the version in force. If you keep using Instoryview after a change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can cancel before then.
Resolving legal claims
Before bringing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days. Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under applicable law.
